Aloha Lahaina

I entered this painting “Aloha Lahaina” into the Lahaina Poster Contest. Although it was not selected for the poster, I am grateful for the inspiration to paint the harbor while the Carthaginian, an old whaling ship, was still there. The Carthaginian was a popular tourist attraction for many years. Unfortunately it fell into disrepair and shortly after I painted it, the ship was towed out to deep water and sunk. It is now a popular dive spot.
